Ragi & Pumpkin Kheer

 Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp ragi flour (nachni)

  • 2 tbsp boiled and mashed pumpkin

  • 1 tbsp soft cooked rice (optional)

  • 1 cup water (adjust as needed)

  • A small pinch of turmeric (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a pan, mix the ragi flour with a little water to make a lump-free paste. Add the remaining water and stir well. Cook on low heat for 3–4 minutes until it thickens slightly.

  2. Add the mashed pumpkin and rice (if using). Mix everything and cook for another 2–3 minutes.

  3. Add a tiny pinch of turmeric for added benefits, and stir.

  4. Let the kheer cool to room temperature before serving. You can serve it lukewarm too—but never hot.

Feeding Tips:

  • Serve in moderation — this is a treat, not a daily meal.

  • Skip sugar, salt, milk, or jaggery — they aren’t good for pets.

  • Always watch how your pet reacts to new foods.
