A delicious, wholesome, and easy-to-make treat for your furry friend using simple ingredients you probably already have at home!
Ingredients
-
1 cup grated carrot (gajar)
-
¾ cup homemade peanut butter (unsalted, sugar-free)
-
½ cup unsweetened applesauce (or use mashed ripe banana as an alternative)
-
½ cup pumpkin puree (boil and mash kaddu)
-
¼ cup water
-
2 eggs
-
2½ cups atta (whole wheat flour)
-
1 tsp dalchini powder (cinnamon) – optional
-
Extra atta for dusting/rolling
Instructions:
-
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Line 1–2 baking trays with butter paper or lightly grease with a small amount of oil (avoid strong-smelling oils like mustard).
-
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together:
-
Grated carrot
-
Peanut butter
-
Applesauce or mashed banana
-
Pumpkin puree
-
Water
-
Eggs
-
Mix until everything is well combined.
-
Gradually stir in the atta and cinnamon using a spoon or your hands until a soft dough forms. Add more flour if it feels too sticky.
-
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 3/8-inch thickness. Use a small cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
-
Place the treats on the baking tray, leaving a little space in between.
-
Bake for 6–7 minutes, then rotate the tray or switch rack levels if using two trays. Bake for another 6–7 minutes, or until the edges are golden and firm.
-
Let the treats cool for 5 minutes on the tray, then transfer them to a plate to cool completely.
-
Store in an airtight container in a cool place for up to 7–10 days (or refrigerate for longer shelf life).
